ChartPull lets you download your organisation data in six formats — from a simple CSV spreadsheet to a comprehensive AI-generated executive report. All exports reflect the latest synced data.

How to export

Open the toolbar

The export button sits in the top toolbar, visible in every view (Tree, List, Compact, D3).

Click the Export button

A dropdown appears showing all available export formats. Formats that require a higher plan show a lock icon.

Choose your format

Click the format you want. CSV and PNG downloads start immediately. PDF and AI reports take a few seconds to generate.

Download

Your browser downloads the file automatically. Check your Downloads folder.

Base exports

These four export formats are included with every base license.

StarterIncluded in all plans

A comma-separated values file that opens in any spreadsheet app — Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, or Apple Numbers.

What is included:

One row per employee.
Columns: Name, Title, Department, Email, Location, Manager, Manager Email.
If you have defined custom fields, they appear as additional columns automatically.

Common use cases:

Importing into an HRIS (BambooHR, Workday, Rippling) that accepts CSV.
Budget planning — combine with cost centre data in a spreadsheet to build a headcount budget.
Sharing a snapshot with a colleague who does not have ChartPull access.
Running a mail merge using the email column.
Compliance reporting — export quarterly headcount records for audits.

CSV + Google Sheets

Export the CSV, import it into Google Sheets, add a salary or cost column, and use SUMIF to calculate department costs. This is a quick way to build a headcount budget without any extra tools.

AI exports

These two export formats require the AI Features add-on. During your 14-day trial, they are fully accessible.

AIRequires AI Features add-on

A downloadable report showing AI-predicted attrition risk scores and growth trends by department. Includes bar charts, risk ratings, and a summary of anomalies detected.

What is included:

Attrition risk by department (low, medium, high) with contributing factors.
Headcount growth trajectory — where the organisation is heading based on historical trends.
Anomaly flags — sudden departures, rapid team growth, or unexpected shrinkage.

This report is designed to be handed to a CFO, VP of People, or board member. It presents data-backed projections without requiring them to log into ChartPull.

Tips for better exports

Collapse branches before exporting PNG. If you only want to show the top three levels, collapse everything below that. The export captures what is on screen.
Use CSV + Google Sheets for budget planning. Export the CSV, import it into Google Sheets, add a salary column, and calculate department costs with formulas.
Schedule regular exports. If your organisation needs quarterly snapshots for compliance, set a calendar reminder to export a PDF Chart on the first of each quarter.
AI Executive Report before board meetings. Generate the report the day before a board meeting. The five recommendations section is an especially good conversation starter.
CSV for HRIS integration. If you use BambooHR, Workday, Rippling, or any HRIS that accepts CSV imports, the ChartPull CSV export is the fastest way to keep both systems in sync.
