Up and running in 3 steps

1. Install from the Google Workspace Marketplace

Your Workspace admin installs ChartPull from the Google Workspace Marketplace. Takes about 30 seconds. Read-only access is granted automatically during setup.

2. Sign in with your Google Workspace account

Once it’s installed, anyone in your org can sign in with their Google Workspace account. Personal Gmail accounts (like @gmail.com) won’t work — it has to be your company account.

3. View your org chart

That’s it. Your org chart builds itself from your Google Workspace directory. Search for people, filter by department, and export whenever you need to.

What you can do

Here’s what ChartPull gives you out of the box:

  • Search: Find any person in your organisation instantly by name, title, or department.
  • Filter by department: Narrow the chart view to a specific department or team to focus on a particular part of the organisation.
  • Export (PNG, CSV, PDF): Download your org chart as a high-resolution image, a CSV spreadsheet, or a PDF report. Available on all plans.
  • Admin settings: Workspace administrators can manage sync settings, trigger manual directory refreshes, and configure application preferences.
  • White-label branding: Customers with the Integrations add-on can replace ChartPull’s branding with their own logo, colours, and domain.

Common questions

What data does ChartPull access?

We read names, titles, departments, manager relationships, and profile photos from your Google Workspace directory. That’s it. Directory data is cached and refreshed automatically. For full details on data retention, see our Privacy Policy.

How do I uninstall ChartPull?

Only people in your Google Workspace domain can see it. If they’re not signed in with a company account, they can’t get in. No exceptions.

Troubleshooting

Something not working? Start here. These cover 90% of the issues we see.

Org chart is empty

Usually means domain-wide delegation isn’t active yet. Ask your Workspace admin to check the Google Admin Console. You can also try a manual sync from the Admin Settings panel in ChartPull. If it’s still empty, make sure your Google directory actually has manager relationships set up — ChartPull can’t build a chart without them.

I can't sign in

ChartPull only works with Google Workspace accounts — personal Gmail (like @gmail.com) won’t work. Make sure you’re signing in with your company account. Still stuck? Ask your IT admin to confirm ChartPull has been installed for your domain.

Data seems outdated

ChartPull caches directory data for up to 15 minutes. If you just made changes in Google Workspace (new hires, manager updates), either wait a few minutes or ask a Workspace admin to trigger a manual sync from the Admin panel.

Export isn't working

Exports (PNG, CSV, PDF) are available on every plan. If one isn’t working, check that pop-up blockers are disabled for ChartPull in your browser settings. Try a different browser to rule out compatibility issues. Still broken? Email us at support@chartpull.com with your browser and OS and we’ll sort it out.
